Nail polish colour review

Rimmel lasting finish pro in gold silk

This is the same brand as my coral colour a few posts back. I love this colour, it's comparable to a champaign. It has amazing shine and it's not too bold, perfect for any season. This colour kind of reminds me of the '70's, I don't know why.

Outfit of the day

Hey everyone!!!

The weather today is absolutely gorgeous. The sun was shining and it honestly felt like it was mid June because it was so beautiful. My boyfriend was able to come home early from work today (I had the day off) so we went for a drive and had some dinner at Swiss Chalet.

Here is my outfit:












Jeans: garage
Tank: garage
Shirt: garage
Cardigan: Ricki's

Makeup:
Eyes: light purple and grey eyeshadow from my sephora palette
Purple Rimmel kohl eyeliner pencil
Lips: MAC snob lipstick and MAC wee coquette lip gloss on top

You may or may not be able to notice in the pictures but my hair is quite lighter than in my last post. I finally decided to tone it!!!!
I used Wella colour charm T18 Lightest ash blonde and I no longer have any gold tones in my hair it is all ash!!!! My roots are still a bit orange but not as bright and golden as they were, thank God!!!!

Here is my outfit and make up in honour of today.

Sorry for the bad quality my bathroom lighting combined with my IPod camera make for not the best pictures indoors.

Jeans: silver
Tank top: guess?
T-shirt: vintage shop and I cut it to make it what it is now

Makeup:
Mint green shadow on eyelid
Orange on crease
White above orange up to brow bone
Black Rimmel kohl pencil liner
(all shadows from my sephora palette)

Cute Clutch DIY

Today I was at Vervegirl magazine for a fun ducktape DIY with the girls!!!

Here is what you need:
Duck tape roll - in as many colours or patterns as you like
Duck tape sheets - again in different colours and patterns
Velcro
Your fav embellishments: jewels, buttons etc...


Instructions:
(I apologize if the pics are not in order I'm posting this from my iPod, hopefully I can fix it for you all by tomorrow)

Step 1:
Pick 2 different sheets of the same colour/design and a roll of duck tape in a contrasting colour

Step2:
Peel off one design and stick it on the back of your other sheet design (do not stick both tapes together, leave the backing on one so you can fix any bubbles)

Step3:
Lay one sheet partly on top of the other and make a border on all four sides with your duck tape roll
Step4: Cut off about 3 inches off one end to use for your pocket and redo your border on this end.

Step5:
Fold your sheets in the size that you would like your clutch to be

Step6:
Cut your end piece to the desired size of your pocket and make a border around in it with your duck tape roll

Step7:
Place your pocket in the desired position and inforce with a duck tape border

Step8:
Cut 4 pieces of Velcro and place two on the inner top fold and two on the bottom fold

Step9:
Tape the sides of your clutch around the border to keep your clutch closed

Step10:
Add any jewels or embellishments

Lighter blonde (please help!!!)

Dye I used: L'Oreal Excellence Creme AA01 ultra light ash blonde
Plus I used my own developer instead of what the box came with - ion sensitive scalp 30 volume developer


I decided to dye my hair again to make it a lighter shade of blonde. It didn't turn out as light as I wanted but I'm still pretty happy and I love the natural highlights it gave me. I took a bunch of pics in my bathroom but the lighting sucks so it made my hair look darker.
Although I love the colour I don't like my roots, they look kind of orange. Anyone have any tips how to prevent and get rid of orange roots? I already use purple shampoo but it doesn't completely get rid of the orange. PLEASE HELP!!!!

Favourite nail polish ever!!

I got this polish colour two summers ago to do a review on it and I absolutely love it!!!!
Every time I wear this polish I think of summer and with coral being such a huge trend I just had to put it on my nails.
It comes with a wider brush making it super easy to apply and it also drys pretty quick too. The best thing about this polish is that it doesn't chip!!!

Easy day to night glam makeup

Products used
Maybelline dream smooth mousse - 110 porcelain ivory
L'Oreal True Match naturale mineral foundation - 464 natural beige (fav foundation ever, been using for 5 yrs)
Sephora aspen summit No. 23 eyeshadow
Bare minerals silver powder eye shadow(came in rockstar set)
Light grey shadow from my sephora palette
Sephora eyeliner pencil - 11 silver green
Maybelline one by one volume express mascara (love this)
Clinique duo full potential lip gloss - soooo pink No. 07

Steps for my foundation and blush can be found in a few blog posts back, today I'm just going to give the steps on how I did my eyes.


Step1: cover whole eyelid in white eyeshadow up to brow line
Step2: use eyeliner from middle to end of eyelid as well as on the lower lid
Step3: from middle out apply light grey shadow
Step4: apply darker grey/silver shadow from middle out and up. Be light on this step for a day look or darker for a night look
Step4: mascara, for this look the bigger the better. If you don't have very long lashes like me I would even recommend false lashes for this look.

Now you've completed an easy and glamorous day to night look enjoy!!!

Make up sneak peek

I feel so bad, I have not had anytime time to post this week. I seriously need to try and find more time for yal.
This weekend I have an outfit post to come and a makeup look, plus a new hair colour. Tonight I am dying my hair again, a lighter colour. I'm going to try to use a salon developer with a boxed dye since last time I used a salon colour it did not match. I will post my results hopefully by tomorrow night!!!

Barbie French tip: nail design

Last night I wanted to try something different with my nails so I just started painting and this is what came out of my little experiment.

Step 1: clear coat
Step 2: silver polish all over nail
Step 3: light pink colour all over nail on top of silver coat
Step 4: fuscia French tip, I didn't use any stencils, I just did it by eye very slowly and used a cotton bud to fix anything needing to be fixed
Step 5: white polish on top of everything to give a blended look (this color and the light pink were both from the dollar store so they're very light and diluted to show just a hint of colour)
Step 6: clear top coat
