Minimal Statement - Outfit

Hello lovelies,

Are you heading out to dinner after work, or do you need an outfit for an event? Here is the perfect look.

When shopping for a Fall wardrobe, there are some basics that every woman needs, including a classic white dress. The dress I chose for this look is a basic shift dress with an embellished collar, making your jewelry choices that much easier.

Another piece that we all need is a coloured blazer. A coloured blazer is great for every season and this Fall the colours are navy and burgundy. I chose a burgundy blazer for this look as the statement piece to give a more fashion forward look.

When wearing an outfit with a clothing item as the statement piece, tone everything else down by adding neutral pieces like I did with the purse and jewelry.

Happy Summer!!

Hello lovelies!!!

Today is officially summer yay!!

Although I haven't been able to post anything recently, I had to post some kind of summer outfit(s) today!

I also wanted to say thank you to those who commented on my two previous posts. Although my hand is still bandaged up, my wrist is getting better. I still have limited mobility and little strength, but I am really pleased thus far with the healing process. Next week I get my stitches out then I will either be in a splint or a cast for a few more weeks.

As of right now I still cannot post regularly, but I am going to try for once a week. Most posts will be quite pictorial, so I hope you will still enjoy them!!

I hope you all are doing amazing and that you have an awesome first day of summer!!!!

Make your own statement

Hello lovelies,

Today's post is my second in my "How to style/wear statement necklaces".

I also did some shopping recently and have a haul planned soon featuring a few of the items in my post today.

*My tip for this post is if you love statement jewelry/necklaces and you don't have any MAKE YOUR OWN!!! Find a few pieces in similar colours and/or metals and layer them up. Layering up your jewelry is the same as layering your clothes, you get something new every time you switch up a piece. The same concept can be said for layering different rings and bracelets too.

I was definitely feeling a little edgy with this outfit an hair, but I love it and think that it is prefect for Spring (whenever it finally decides to arrive in Ontario).

Styling statement necklaces pt.1

This post is going to be the first in a four part series of how to style/wear statement necklaces. In each post (once a week) I will show you an outfit with a different statement necklace and give you some tips on how to wear them.
Tip: When wearing a statement piece whether it be earrings, a necklace or a bracelet, you want to tone down everything else.

This is an outfit that I wore to work the other day. I actually picked out my outfit before even adding my necklace. I love long collared blouses, but I never like to bottom them up all the way, so i can still show my neck. A statement necklace (especially with a top like this) is like what a tie is to men. We use them to add a little something extra to our outfits.
Since my necklace is gold and the rest of my outfit is plain, I thought these gold toed leopard flats would be a perfect accent.

My Valentine's Day outfit

Hello lovelies,

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!! What are you all up to tonight?
My boyfriend and I actually celebrated Valentine's on Tuesday,  so we wouldn't have to wait forever to get into a restaurant. We went out for dinner and a movie and had a nice night out.
Tonight we just celebrated with a quiet steak dinner and wine at home.

Tiffany blue ootd & motd

Lately I have been really obsessed with mint green and teal, as you will notice by my outfit and makeup....

Outfit:

Stripped crop sweater - ardene
White tank - american eagle
Jeans - garage
Leg warmers - ardene

Makeup:

- Maybelline color tattoo in too cool all over lid
any teal colour all over lid on top of too cool
- urban decay tease in crease and outer v; this will help to tone down the teal
- urban decay verve in inner corner
- black liquid eye liner winged out

Lips:
- Mac snob - dab onto lips
- Rimmel moisture renew in vintage rose on top
(My fav lip combination at the moment)

Nails:
I don't have a teal nail polish so I mixed three colours until I got this beautiful tiffany blue shade

I absolutely love eternity/infinity scarfs for all year round. Not only do they keep our necks warm in the winter, but they work with any outfit.

Mint and charms - ootd

Hello lovelies,

Today's post is one of my most recent ootd's. I just recently it this new sweater and I LOVE it!!! At first I did not think the colour would look with my hair and complexion, but after trying it on I had to have it. It is just a comfy and slouchy know sweater, in such a gorgeous colour for winter. It is loose and cozy and I just love it with my distressed, light wash jeans from garage.

Jeans: garage (mine are a little more distressed because I keep getting my foot stuck in the knee hole, when I put them on....)

Mixing patterns - Fall outfit

So the time has come, Fall is officially here and I am so excited. Prints and colourblocking are huge for this season and I just love every trend that is out there right now (which is rare). Here is my outfit from work today....

I absolutely love this top, I think the faux trim gives a bit of an edge and I love the fall colours and pattern.

Fall is here

Hello lovelies,

Yesterday was the first real sign that Fall is coming. It was cold rainy an just an ugh day. Aside from the yucky weather I love everything that comes with The Fall season. The leaves start changing to beautiful oranges and reds, the air is lighter and just smells different. Pumpkin, spice and everything nice fills the air with new scented candles. The thing I love most about Fall though is of course Fall fashion and colours!!!! This season we are seeing more colour stories and trends. Taupe, mustard, raspberry, all of my colours of the season. Loose style blouses in light materials and peterpan collars, with lace and leather trim, feathers and different animal inspired jewelry. How can you not be excited for Fall!!!
