Summer Vacay Essentials
I love this swimsuit because it is flattering (for the top and bottom) and hello it's purple cheetah print!!!
I got this when I was a teenager and still have it to this day, 'cause it has dolphins on it and it's huge. With cover ups the bigger the better for me, because they offer so much versatility.
- My favourite not too oversized sunnies from Dolce & Gabanna
Tanning:
- SPF 4(the lower the better, because I am so pasty) oil spray with UVA and UVB protection. This stuff literally smells like a piƱa colada, yummie!!!
Sun Protection:
- 12h moisturization Silk Hydration sunscreen with Spf 30.
After Sun:
- Silk Hydration after sun moisturizer with aloe gel and 24h hydration. I absolutely love this stuff. It feels soft and cooling on your skin and is perfect if you got a little too much sun.
- Garnier fructis sleek and shine leave-in conditioner. As a blonde I need to protect my hair from the water whether it be salt water like the ocean or even just chlorine from a regular pool. To do so I wet my hair, slather this stuff all over and stick my hair in a bun. I do this to prevent my hair from absorbing the salt and/or chemicals. Instead my hair can absorb the conditioner and be that much softer.
- Garnier fructis sleek and shine thermo-sleek spray to prevent my hair from getting heat damage. No this product is not uva or uvb protective, but I find it works just the same. (You can however get similar products that are meant strictly for sun protection.)
No matter where you are going and no matter what anyone says, as a girl you always need a little makeup, it just makes us feel and look our best.
My makeup essentials for a weekend getaway include:
- Garnier BB cream in light/medium
- Maybelline age rewind dark circle eraser concealer in fair.
- My Naked2 palette from Urban decay
- Essence silky touch blush in 30 secret it-girl. This colour is perfect for when you have (or want) a tan, because it adds the most beautiful glow to any complexion.
- Stila stay all day waterproof volumizing mascara. Nobody wants raccoon eyes from jumping out of the water or after laying in the sun too long and having your mascara melt off.
- Blistex tropical lip balm with Spf 15
- My favourite moisturizer that I have been using for years!!!
Neutrogena Healthy Skin face lotion with Spf 15.
- Jergens Natural Glow daily face mositurizer with Spf 20 in fair to medium.
You always need a gradual tanner for your face, as the complexion of our face will never match the rest of our body. This one is my fav, because it is light and doesn't clog your pores. You can also mix it with your regular mositurizer or BB cream, so it is even lighter on your skin.
- Biore Make-up removing towelettes. The best for removing even the toughest waterproof mascara at the end of the day. Also great to refresh your skin after a long day in the sun.

New Years Eve/Holiday Make-up
Hello lovelies,
Here is a glamours and colourful make-up look perfect for any New Years Eve plans that you may have. Purple is one of my favourite colours and I think it looks especially pretty on the eyes whether you have green, blue or brown eyes.
Step 1:
Using a flat eyeshadow brush or your fingers press Maybelline color tattoo in too cool on the inner corner of your eye.
Step 2:
On the remaing of your lid and up to your crease use Maybelline color tattoo in painted purple.
Step 3:
Use a semi-shimmery purple eye shadow (mine is from an essence palette 03 vamp it up) and pat this on top of painted purple.
Step 4:
In your inner corner use a shimmery pink on top of too cool. I used the lighter pink from my Stila written in the stars palette.
Step 5:
Very lightly use a darker purple to deepen your crease. I used busted from my Urban Decay Naked2 palette. Be sure to blend, so the colour doesn't look too dark or harsh.
Step 6:
Using the two pink colours side by side in my stila palette I softened up my crease by blending them into and above my crease over busted. This creates an easy and soft transition of colour.
Step 7:
Line your upper lash line and wing it out at the end for a more dramatic look.
Step 8:
Line your bottom lash line with either a pencil or a shadow.
Using a flat brush I lined my lowet lash line with busted from my Naked2 palette.
Step 9:
Apply your favourite lengthing mascara to your top and bottom lashes.
Step 10:
Highlight under your brown bone (once your brows are completed). I used bootycall from Naked2
Step 11:
Put on your favourite light pink lipstick and gloss.
I used Mac lipstick in snob and Mac lip glass in wee coquette.
For the face I contoured my cheeks bones, applied a soft pink blush and a shimmery pink highlight above my cheekbones, along the bridge of my nose and on my cupids bow for the perfect pout.
You are all finished!!!!
Thanks everyone for reading and I hope you like this look. Let me know if you wear this on New Years or if you do something similar.
Also what is everyone us doing tomorrow night to ring in the New Year?!?!?

Foundation Routine and Review
Hello lovelies,
I have never been a liquid foundation type girl. There is no real reason why I've never used them, I just never have. Ever since I started wearing foundation when I was 16 I have used the same L'Oreal true match mineral foundation. It's light and gives the perfect amount of coverage that I need. I have tried liquid foundation before, but never loved it.
This past summer was the first time I ever used anything else on my face. I started using the new Garnier bb cream and I love it!!! When I use it I still set it with my L'Oreal foundation. I did a review on it last year (here) expressing how much I love it and I still and will always use this product. With that being said, sometimes I want a bit more coverage such as when I'm going out, or doing a photoshoot. On those days I am now using the Maybelline fit me liquid foundation.
A couple weeks ago I was in the drugstore and thought to myself I need to bite the bullet and actually try a liquid foundation. I didn't want to spend a lot of money in case I still preferred my then current routine, so the drugstore was the perfect place to start
I remember hearing how great the Maybelline Fit me foundation was from different beauty gurus reviews online when it first came out and thought why not!!
The consistency of this foundation is quite light and thank goodness it does not dry quick, so you can put it everywhere then blend, unlike some which you have to do in patches. I had tried some foundations in the past that dried so fast and ended up looking cakey, which I guess could be one reason I had never wanted to buy any others. The finish of this foundation is a bit dewy which I don't mind, but it can easily be mattified with a powder. The dewy texture is not that bad, it will still last even if you have oily skin.
The first thing I do after moisturizing my face is apply my primer to any oily spots or places where my foundation doesn't always last. Ie. My nose, chin and under my eyes.
I then like to blot the foundation all over my face and blend everything in all at once. You don't need a lot of this foundation to start. For me the coverage of one layer is enough, but if you have any dark spots or just like a full coverage foundation this is definitely build-able.
After my foundation is blended and has had time to set I move on to my concealer. My favourite concealer at the moment is my Maybelline age rewind dark circle eraser in neutralizer. This stuff is amazing!! I use it under my eyes in a triangle shape, on my eyelids, around my nose and on my chin.
Once my concealer is blended I set everything with my favourite setting powder, NYC smooth skin loose powder in translucent. With this powder you don't need a lot, a little goes a long.
After setting, I finish off by contouring, adding blush and what ever else the day calls for.
My days tend to be pretty long so I need a foundation that will last at least 10-12 hours until I am able to wash it off. This foundation is great for lasting power. My skin looks the exact same when I get home from work as it did when I first applied it. It even helps my concealer stay on a lot longer.
Here are some pictures to show you how it looks on.
